2023 Genesis GV60 priced under $60,000 with lots of standard equipment

Pricing for the 2023 Genesis GV60 has officially been announced and unsurprisingly, it slots just above its E-GMP platform mates, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6. There are only two versions available in the U.S., and both feature a dual-motor layout backed by a 77.4-kWh battery pack. The GV60 Advanced starts at $59,980 and is expected to get an EPA range estimate of 248 miles per charge. It gets a full suite of driver assistance features plus remote parking, 20-inch alloy wheels, full LED exterior lighting, a hands-free power trunk, heated and ventilated front seats, dual 12.3-inch displays, built-in navigation, a fingerprint scanner, face recognition, and a Bang & Olufsen audio system. Its combined output is 314 hp and 446 lb-ft of torque.

As its name states, the 2023 Genesis GV60 Performance gets extra go-fast goodies. These include an electronically-controlled suspension, a limited-slip differential, and Monobloc front brakes. Power goes up to 429 hp in this variant but torque remains the same. The GV60 Performance also gets a Boost function that increases its combined output to 483hp and 516 lb-ft for 10 seconds. Additional standard features include 21-inch alloy wheels, Nappa Leather upholstery, microfiber suede headliner and pillars, heated rear seats, alloy pedals, and power cushion and bolster adjustment for the driver’s seat. However, the GV60 Performance’s combined driving range is on the low end at 235 miles per charge.

Since it’s underpinned by Hyundai Motor Group’s E-GMP platform, the GV60 features an 800-volt charging architecture. That means it has a peak DC charging speed of 235 kW, enabling it to go from 10 to 80 percent in 18 minutes. Every GV60 purchase or lease also comes with three years of free 30-minute charging sessions at Electrify America.

The GV60 is the first vehicle in Genesis product blitz as it doubles down on electrification. It will be followed in the summer by the Electrified G80, which is already on sale in Korea, Genesis’ home market. Before the end of the year, Genesis will introduce the Electrified GV70 to the North American market, its first model built outside of Korea. As part of a $7.4 billion investment, Hyundai Motor Group has announced that it will produce the larger of two all-electric crossovers at its Montgomery, Alabama facility, which will also build the Santa Fe Hybrid.

From 2025 onward, Genesis will be launching battery-electric vehicles exclusively. The first of those is the GV60, Electrified G80, and Electrified GV70. In total, Genesis has six BEVs in the pipeline with the first three already due out by next year. The second salvo involves two more SUVs and another sedan. We know of at least two of those; the flagship GV90 will be among the largest vehicles on the company’s E-GMP platform alongside the Hyundai Ioniq 7 and Kia EV9, both of which are debuting next year. The sedan is most likely the second-generation G70, which is currently under development with the project code RN2. However, it’s not known if the car will use the same M3 rear-drive architecture as the GV70 or the E-GMP platform. The fourth SUV remains a mystery but could easily be the next-generation GV80, which could eventually move to the E-GMP platform.

You can now order the 2023 Genesis GV60 via an online concierge on the brand’s website. However, you’re likely going to be on the waitlist for some time because the Priority One program has already filled up to capacity with reservations.
